Matching and comparison questions
Can contractors pay to be recommended?
No. There is no paid ranking. Contractors pay a referral fee only if you award them work, and the fee plays no part in who we match.
Why up to three quotes?
Three comparable quotes is usually enough to understand the market for your job without asking contractors to spend time on quotes they have little chance of winning. If fewer than three are eligible, we tell you.
Will you pick the cheapest quote for me?
No. We line quotes up like for like and flag differences, such as exclusions or provisional sums, that make one look cheaper than it is. You choose.
Do I have to accept a quote?
No. You're under no obligation to award the work to anyone.
